Zachary Brown

Scribe

Zachary is currently a pre-medical Biology major undergraduate student at the University of South Florida. He is hoping to gain admission into medical school. In July 2019, Zachary started at Florida Surgical Specialists as its first medical scribe. Zach also works as a research assistant for projects constructed by Dr. Toomey.

Prior to his work at Florida Surgical Specialists, Zachary was a scribe in the Emergency Department at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Outside of Florida Surgical Specialists, Zach works in Student Government within USF, is the Vice-President of the Pre-Health Professions Club and volunteers at Big Brothers Big Sisters.

His hobbies include reading, playing basketball, and going to the beach.

Zachary Oulton

Zachary is a current student at USF working on a bachelor’s degree in Biology with a focus in pre-medicine. He is on track to graduate in 2022 and aims to attend medical school after.

After shadowing various medical professions he joined Florida Surgical Specialists as a scribe in 2019 as a way to gain more knowledge in the field of medicine. Zack is also part of the Florida Surgical Specialists research team as a research assistant.

He lived in Pennsylvania most his life and moved to Venice, Fl in 2015 for the weather and scholarship opportunities. In his free time, he enjoys the beach, surfing, and skimming.

Emily Sardzinski

Emily is a premedical biology student at the University of South Florida who is working towards gaining acceptance to medical school. She joined Florida Surgical Specialists as a scribe in December 2019 to gain more experience in the medical field. She has also been working closely with the research team here at Florida Surgical Specialists as a research assistant.

Emily has shadowed various medical providers throughout the years and worked as a dental assistant. Previously, Emily was heavily involved with Student Government. She worked to improve the budget process, volunteered on and off campus, and represented the students.

Emily’s heart for service motivates her to continue to grow and improve herself so that she can one day provide the best care for her patients. In her spare time, Emily enjoys spending time outside, playing the piano, and being with her family.
