We utilize a multidisciplinary approach to treating patients, keeping the patients and their families closer to home. We established Florida Surgical Specialists in 2015 with one purpose in mind: present Southwest Florida patients with the industry’s most ground-breaking surgical solutions for digestive disorders, cancer treatment and general and colorectal surgery needs. For the convenience of our patients, Dr. Paul Toomey, Dr. Riva Das, and Dr. Alvaro Bada serve as a staff surgeons at four area hospitals; Manatee Memorial Hospital, Blake Medical Center, Lakewood Ranch Medical Center and Doctors Hospital of Sarasota. For those procedures that do not require the resources of a hospital, they also are on staff at three Surgery Centers; Manatee Surgical Center, Doctors Same Day Surgery (Sarasota) and Gulf Coast Surgery Center.
In an effort to improve and maximize patient recovery times and outcomes, our surgeons us a multidisciplinary team that works directly with the patients, and the patients referring physicians to coordinate post-operative care, treatment and recovery. This includes patients who need continued support and therapies for the treatment of melanoma, breast, esophageal, stomach, liver, pancreas, and colon cancers.
